1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website www.cicero-insight.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not accept these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Site immediately.
2. Changes to the Terms
We may amend these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on the Site with the date of the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after such posting constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will provide a clear notice (e.g., banner or email) at least 30 days before they take effect.
3. Eligibility
The Site is intended for users who are at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your Member State). By using the Site you confirm that you meet this requirement.
4. Services Provided
The Site offers news articles, think-tank analysis, opinions, multimedia content, newsletters, subscription plans, comment forums. All services are described on the Site and are subject to availability.
5. Account Registration
Creation: Certain features require you to create an account. You must provide accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date information.
Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. Notify us immediately at support‑ admin@cicero-insight.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Termination: We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, violate applicable law, or are inactive for more than 12 months.
6. User‑Generated Content
License: By submitting comments, articles, photos, or any other content (“User Content”) you grant us a worldwide, royalty‑free, non‑exclusive licence to reproduce, distribute, display, and modify the content for the purpose of operating the Site.
Responsibility: You warrant that your User Content does not infringe third‑party rights, is not defamatory, obscene, or illegal, and complies with EU consumer‑protection and advertising rules.
Removal: We reserve the right to remove any User Content that breaches these warranties or is deemed inappropriate, without prior notice.
7. Intellectual Property
All proprietary content on the Site—including text, graphics, logos, designs, software, and databases—is owned by or licensed to www.cicero-inisight.com and protected by EU copyright, trademark, and related laws. You may view and download content for personal, non‑commercial use only, unless expressly permitted.
8. Payments & Subscriptions (if applicable)
Pricing: Prices are displayed in euros (€) and include applicable VAT unless otherwise stated.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly/annual). You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have a 14‑day “cooling‑off” period for digital services purchased online, provided the service has not yet been fully performed. After this period, refunds are granted only in cases of non‑delivery or material breach.
9. Right of Withdrawal (Consumer‑Specific)
If you are a consumer (i.e., acting for personal, non‑professional purposes), you may withdraw from a contract within 14 days without giving any reason, unless the service has been fully performed with your explicit consent. To exercise this right, contact us at admin@cicero-insight.com using the model withdrawal form attached to the purchase confirmation.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding:
Accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the content;
Availability or uninterrupted operation of the Site;
Compatibility with any particular device or software.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cicero Insight Journalists (CIJ) shall not be liable for:
Direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site;
Loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill;
Any claim arising out of third‑party content or services linked from the Site.
The total aggregate liability of CIJ for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for the specific service that gave rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the incident.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the Member State of Luxembourg. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of that Member State, unless mandatory consumer‑protection provisions dictate otherwise.
13. Dispute Resolution & Alternative Procedures
Consumers may use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) for cross‑border complaints. We are not obligated to participate in arbitration unless expressly agreed in a separate written contract.
14. Privacy
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which incorporates the requirements of the GDPR. By using the Site you consent to such processing as described therein.
15. Third‑Party Links & Services
The Site may contain links to external websites or services that are not under our control. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or legality of those third parties.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
